The main source of information and news I get is either from my parents or my friends. My parents are very active in keeping me informed, whether it’s through sending messages, sharing videos, or calling me to talk. They’re always updating me on what's going on with my old high school, news from my hometown, and even the latest in politics. I appreciate these updates because they help me feel connected to my roots, even though I'm not physically there anymore.
My friends from home also keep me in the loop, particularly when it comes to updates about our high school classmates. They’ll send me random TikToks of places they’re interested in visiting or things they want to buy, and it’s fun to see what’s catching their attention. My friends at High Point University keep me updated about events they’re attending and activities happening on campus, which helps me feel involved in their lives despite being away. I truly value the relationships I have with both my family and friends, and I care deeply about their opinions and experiences. These connections mean a lot to me, as they help me stay grounded and aware of what’s going on in the world around me, both near and far.

My third source of information comes from Instagram. Like TikTok, Instagram is a social media platform primarily known for posting photos and videos that showcase personal moments and experiences. However, it’s evolved into so much more than just a place to share pictures. Over the years, Instagram has become a hub for a wide variety of content, with politicians, influencers, brands, and companies all having their own accounts. These users often share updates that range from professional announcements to personal insights into their lives, which can be both informative and entertaining. I enjoy using Instagram because it allows me to follow a mix of people I know personally, as well as public figures I find interesting, all in one place. It’s a great way to stay up-to-date on the latest trends, from fashion and beauty to the entertainment industry.

My fourth source of news is FoxNews. While I understand that this news station can sometimes be biased, I appreciate that, for the most part, they seem genuinely focused on spreading what they believe to be the truth. Like with any news outlet, I don't always agree with everything they say or how they present it, but I find value in the perspectives they provide. I am someone who tends to stay in the middle when it comes to my political views, so I like that Fox News offers a particular lens through which I can see and understand issues. It’s important to me to see a wide range of opinions, and sometimes, I find myself agreeing with the points they make, especially when they bring in experts and specialists from the political and governmental fields.

Boston 25 News is another station I watch regularly to stay up-to-date on local happenings. I usually watch Boston 25 on my television at home, and it’s become one of my go-to sources for everything related to New England. Since I’m from just north of Boston, I’m a diehard New England sports fan, and I’m always looking out for the latest updates on the Celtics, Red Sox, Patriots, and Bruins. Being able to tune into Boston 25 gives me real-time coverage of games, scores, and analysis, which keeps me connected to my favorite teams, even from afar. Whether it’s a big win or a tough loss, I appreciate how the station provides thorough updates on all the local teams and their journeys through the seasons.
Aside from sports, one of the things I really enjoy about watching Boston 25 is the local coverage of events and news specific to the Boston area. I love keeping up with major happenings like the Boston Marathon, the Celtics’ championship parade, or various cultural festivals around the city. These events are such an important part of the New England identity, and Boston 25 does a great job of covering them in depth. It’s a great way to feel more connected to the community, even if I’m not always able to participate in person.
Another reason I trust Boston 25 is its weather coverage. Living in New England, we’re no strangers to unpredictable weather, and nor'easters are something we face quite often. These powerful storms can bring heavy snow, rain, and strong winds, making it essential to stay informed and prepared. Having a local news station that focuses on the specific weather patterns and potential threats in our area is incredibly helpful. Boston 25 often provides detailed updates on weather forecasts, storm warnings, and safety precautions, which is vital for helping us stay safe during extreme weather events. The station's commitment to keeping us informed and protected in these situations is something I truly appreciate.
In addition to all the local news, weather, and sports coverage, Boston 25 offers a sense of community. It’s a station that keeps me connected to everything I care about—sports, events, and safety—while also reminding me of the unique spirit of New England and all that it has to offer.
